In a 2005 study, conducted by TrueComparison.org, 150 top food editors and culinary industry experts voted on and name 40 of the best culinary schools in the U.S. and Canada. Among the winners were The Culinary Institute of America, The French Culinary Institute of New York City, Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute and Johnson & Wales University.
What sets these culinary programs apart has a lot to do with such factors as instructor experience, number of four-star chefs, atmosphere, tuition cost and student/teacher ratio.
